About the Artist
I am an artist and owner of Wonders of Whimsy. I love working with my hands, making dolls and painting whimsical paintings. I attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and majored in Visual Communications. For years, I worked in the corporate world in the technology sector. I strayed from the arts till about 7 years ago, when I became an interior designer. This opened up my desire to design other things. Throughout the years I have designed felted purses & knitted items, painted abstract paintings, even re-upholstered furniture. Then I started collecting primitive folk art dolls. I was fascinated by them and never imagined that I would be making them someday. What began with painting fun folk art paintings, turned into a desire to try to create a doll. My first doll took forever it seemed but I soon got the hang of it and I have already been collected in Australia, United Kingdom, Poland as well as all over the US.
